Каждый инструмент в библиотеке эффектов и переходов Universe совместим с GPU-ускорением вашего компьютера и работает в качестве плагина в приложениях After Effects и Premiere Pro. Библиотека инструментов Universe постоянно растёт — регулярно добавляются новые эффекты и переходы и часто обновляются существующие инструменты, на основе отзывов пользователей.
В пакете присутствуют как бесплатные плагины, рассчитанные на выполнение тривиальных задач (удаление эффекта красных глаз, добавление размытия), так и премиум-инструменты, ориентированные на профессиональных видеоредакторов, режиссеров и VFX-художников.
По сути, это самый крупный и универсальный вариант библиотеки из распространяемых разработчиком Red Giant. Каждый инструмент в Universe поддерживает GPU-ускорение, из-за этого использование и рендеринг эффектов происходит довольно быстро.
Интеграция с поддерживаемыми редакторами видео происходит автоматически на этапе установки библиотек, а эффекты зачастую можно найти в разделе со стандартными средствами коррекции. Каждый инструмент, добавленный в библиотеку, является «самостоятельным» решением. Периодически разработчики обновляют отдельные инструменты, не выпуская при этом новую версию самого пакета. Обновление происходит с использованием «фирменной» оболочки Red Giant Link. Библиотека является платной, но предлагает пользователям пробный период.
